1. What is the UX Design Challenge?

The UX Design Challenge is a 6-week intensive program where participants work in teams to solve real-world design problems for actual clients. It’s an opportunity to enhance your design skills, collaborate with peers, and produce portfolio-worthy work.

2. Who can participate in the challenge?

The challenge is open to designers of all experience levels. There are two participation tiers: Primary Participants, who engage directly with clients, and Secondary Participants, who work on the same challenges but without direct client interaction.

3. What are the time commitments?

Participants are expected to dedicate 10-15 hours per week over the course of 6 weeks. This includes team collaboration, client meetings (for Primary Participants), and individual design work.

4. What are the key dates for the challenge?

Registration Deadline: August 20th, 8 PM PST
Challenge Start: August 29
Challenge End: October 10

5. What is the registration fee?

The registration fee for Primary Participants is CAD 200 and CAD 100 for secondary participants. This fee is due upon registration to secure your spot in the challenge.

6. What if I miss the registration deadline?

If you miss the registration deadline, your spot may be offered to someone on the waitlist. It’s important to complete the registration and payment as soon as possible to secure your participation. deadline?

7. How are participants assigned to teams?

Participants are grouped into teams based on their availability, preferences, and the needs of the challenge. We strive to create balanced teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.

8. What kind of support will I receive during the challenge?

Participants will receive guidance from mentors, feedback from clients (for Primary Participants), and support from the challenge organizers. There will also be regular check-ins to ensure progress and address any challenges.

9. How do I interact with my team and clients?

All interactions will take place on the IterateUX Discord server. This platform will be the central hub for communication, collaboration, and updates throughout the challenge.

10. What happens if I can’t meet the time commitment?

If you find that you’re unable to meet the time commitment, please notify the challenge organizers as soon as possible. We understand that life happens, but consistent participation is crucial for your team’s success.

11. What will I get out of this challenge?

By participating, you’ll gain hands-on experience with real client projects, enhance your portfolio, build valuable industry connections, and develop practical, industry-relevant skills.

12. How do I become a mentor for the challenge?
